How might we create a POPIA guide for certified fraud examiners
WHAT WE ACHIEVED
Fraud examiners need a lot of personal information to do their jobs. We set out to create a practical, plain language guide tailored to the needs of fraud examiners. No ‘one size fits all’, ‘general awareness’ or ‘the eight conditions for the lawful processing of personal information’. Lots of relevant examples, frequently asked questions and specific pitfalls we identified while getting to know the industry better. We are also now prepared for a life of crime.
How we put the ‘fun’ in #funlaw
Navigation
The guide feels like a website and is easy to navigate. The design allows us to layer information so the reader can focus on what is relevant to them and doesn’t get POPIA fatigue.
Emphasis
We emphasised some critical information by creating an NB icon and a colour block.
Examples
While the POPIA principles might seem simple, certified fraud examiners face complex scenarios. We built in advice in the form of examples and frequently asked questions.
